Q1： Although your works have been circulated in the doll community for a long time, everyone's understanding of "矮大紧" is only limited to the dolls. Can you introduce yourself to the "real" 矮大紧?

Hello everyone, I am a native of Shanghai, a young "middle-aged" person who is married and has children, and a partner of an overseas business company. My label has nothing to do with "otaku", "two-dimensional", or "professional photographer", but "996", "straight IT man", "calm and rational", "middle-aged uncle born in the 80s" …

Q2: Why is it named "矮大紧"?

When purchasing Gynoid products and officially entering the community, I hope to have a special "stage name" that is completely different from real life (I don't want to have any connection with myself in reality, and be easily located and discovered). When I was thinking hard, I happened to see a talented netizen on Weibo mocking Gao Xiaosong as "矮大紧", which won my heart and left a deep memory, so I used it to "decorate" myself, and always reminded myself not to be "Gao Xiaosong" in the community! I am not "short, big, and tight", hereby declare.

Q3: What is your doll experience like?

First of all, I don't like the name "doll". I think the accurate definition is "Life-size movable silicone figure" (hereinafter referred to as doll). The term doll is more inclined to young age, or female users, such as Barbie dolls. This is very different from the products we are in contact with now in terms of aesthetics, functions, materials, and user positioning.

Wearing real-life costumes and having adult functions at the same time gave me infinite reverie. But at that time, neither the personal financial ability nor the daily storage of dolls had good conditions, so it was more for appreciation and attention.

In 2018, I saw the three products No. 3, 4, and 5 released by the Gynoid at the Yimei Forum. Their highly realistic body design and the industry's first full-body vascular painting at that time became the ceiling-level products in the industry in 2018, and they completely conquered me. So I started planning to buy dolls and prepare for storage places. This wait is another 3 years, and finally, in 2021, all the conditions are fully ripe. I selected my model — Gynoid No. 13, 170cm Jia Yi, and officially became a Gynoid doll owner.

Q4: Among so many similar products on the market, what are the reasons for choosing a Gynoid doll?

This is related to my aesthetic preference and the concept of using dolls. I am only interested in realistic products, but I need a balance between aesthetics and realism, not just extreme realism. Because I don't need a "human clone"! Real people are not perfect, and dolls are used to make up for the shortcomings of real people, including body shape, appearance， and other "real personality defects".

Secondly, I not only do product selection, but also do some "fundamental" understanding of the history, scale, business, and public praise of each manufacturer. It was discovered that before the Gynoid was made into a doll, it was already one of the early companies in mainland China that participated in the design of equal-scale star wax figures, 1:6 film peripheral statues, 1:3 busts, and 1:1 immobile full-body figures. It cooperates with or serves well-known toy brands at home and abroad, as art statue brands. It can be said that in terms of human form aesthetics, it has long been recognized by the global industry. This makes me more sure that the product design style and aesthetic concept of the Gynoid are highly consistent with my personal needs.

Finally, in the actual horizontal comparison of the same doll products, the Gynoid is in terms of overall weight control, joint complexity (mobility), the durability of the whole body coating, material softness, and oil yield, which are non-aesthetic preferences. Both achieved the top two rankings, so after a comprehensive evaluation, I finally bought the Gynoid doll.

Q5: In the past 2 years of use, what are your real experiences and opinions on Gynoid dolls?

I bought two Gynoid dolls in total, namely the normal version No. 13 Jiayi, and the latest upgraded version No. 13 Ruoxi. I also bought a separate Laura head sculpt. I use Gynoid products, from the beginning mainly for portrait shooting, with a small part of adult sexual function, now it is purely for portrait shooting, and no adult sexual function is used at all.

Based on the above circumstances, it has been used for nearly 2 years. I have become a supporter of the Gynoid brand, an iron fan, but not a brainless fan! (The big reason is that before purchasing, I already know the advantages and disadvantages of the product and how to use it)

From the perspective of shooting and daily play, as long as the yoga posture is not very exaggerated, Gynoid can show almost the static expressiveness of a real person, which is due to the industry's recognized excellent body design and bone mobility. And 170cm, 33kg weight is the lightest among products of the same height in the industry, none of them! What's even more rare is that while being light, the softness (material) of the body maintains a good degree of control, especially the touch of the chest. I think it has reached 70-80% of that of a real person (the material will change over time, and will gradually soften). Finally, the texture of the painting and the control of the parting line will still be at the top level in the industry in 2022, adding to the realism of the doll.

From the perspective of adult sexual function, the position of the lower body of the doll is accurate, and the thickness of the buttocks is appropriate, so it is suitable for use in various postures, and it also takes good care of men of different sizes. The shape and painting of the lower body are quite realistic so that the real ones can be confused with the real ones. From my personal experience, it is qualified, but it can be replaced, and it cannot become the greatest representative of artificial human products, or the primary value embodiment. Q6: Talk about your shooting, how did you get there step by step?

The style of my shooting will be modern, fashionable, INS style, and light luxury. At the same time, I pay more attention to the figure's posture, color tone, and the overall combination of the environment (decoration) and the doll. I am not a professional photographer, not even an amateur. I don't have a camera, I just use my phone to take pictures of the dolls. But in reality, I don't shoot anything except dolls... Shooting dolls stems from my love for human-shaped things since I was a child. When I was young, I was keen on the 6cm plastic doll toys of the "Special Forces" cartoon. When I was an adult, I was keen on the 30cm, 1:6 modern military theme "soldiers", including various heroes authorized by Marvel movies. action figures. Therefore, the realistic human form has always attracted me, motivating me to use photography to record and share the satisfaction and joy of dolls. On the other hand, I do have a natural sensitivity to fine arts, I can even say that I have a certain talent, and maybe some genetics (my mother was an amateur tailor, and the house was full of clothing magazines when I was young), so that I will be the person I have been for many years. The accumulation of forms and aesthetic concepts are all applied to the shooting of dolls so that they can quickly get started and express their beauty.

Compared with my work a year ago, there is a huge gap. With the encouragement of my friends in the community, I took "shooting 10,000 photos will naturally become a master" as the original purpose. From simulating the shooting of various real-life models on the Internet to now being able to plan and create by myself, I gradually improved my shooting ability and mastered a lot. The actual combat skills of mobile phone shooting have accumulated a lot of rich experience in the operation of doll skeleton movements. It was only then that I went all the way, and gradually honed into the current "矮大紧". And the distance from 10,000 shots is approaching (more than 7,000 shots)! Here I would also like to mention my doll-shooting idol: Teacher 小林(@craftsman_14)! His excellent figure works for Gynoid and other manufacturers have always attracted me, inspired me, and become the goal of my constant study and simulation.

I thought the doll was "dead", but the shoot was "alive"! Shooting dead things alive is my greatest joy! But shooting alone is boring, and the domestic doll shooting community is even smaller. I hope that my work will be shared and discussed more so that I can make more progress in my shooting. Q7: Do you have any suggestions and experiences on shooting for everyone?

1. The equipment is not important, and the shooting is over. Only by taking more shots can we accumulate experience;

2. Prepare some shooting reference pictures in advance, start with copying, it has nothing to do with style;

3. Try to ensure that there is sufficient light, whether it is natural light or artificial light;

4. Before shooting, imitate the shooting action and fully understand the essentials of the action;

5. Get used to taking proofs to judge whether the light, viewing angle, and doll's posture are satisfactory, and find some defects to avoid appearing in the official shooting;

6. No matter whether it is a camera or a mobile phone, do not let the characters "stand upright", but try to center them in the frame, leaving space around the frame, to avoid stretching and distortion of the characters caused by the lens;

7. You can use angles, movements, clothing, and props to avoid obvious defects of the doll, such as bent knees, head and neck seams, fingers, etc.;

8. Every picture doesn't need to be a full-body photo, it depends on the actual situation of the shooting space;

9. When shooting, make sure that both eyes of the doll are focused in the correct direction, whether looking straight up or squinting;

10. Try to ensure that the shooting background is neat and clean, and does not appear too many objects and colors, which will affect the dolls in the foreground;

The above ten points are especially suitable for newcomers who are just starting to shoot dolls, avoid some common pitfalls, and quickly shoot a "standard" doll work that can be seen.

Q8: Why do you buy dolls? How do you understand dolls?

In addition to the above-mentioned preference for human-shaped things and interest in shooting, the most important point is the desire to possess and control. First of all, different from the original intention and needs of most doll owners, dolls are dolls for me, not spiritual companionship (to solve the single situation or marriage problems), and life-sized masturbation cup (to solve sexual needs). I just need a 100% controllable and 100% private "fun" to enrich my spare time and satisfy my enjoyment of human figures (including nudity). Secondly, it is also the display (creation) of the idealistic female form in my mind, and it is the correction of my dissatisfaction in socializing with the opposite sex in reality. Q9: How do you define the existence of dolls in life? Will it be shared with others or family?

Due to the conservative moral concept of life-sized movable simulation doll products (adult-related functions and elements) in China, to be on the safe side, I chose the independent identity of "矮大紧" to exist in the doll community, completely separated from real life. Including relatives and friends, I don't need to let them know about the existence of dolls, to actively avoid unnecessary suspicion and trouble. Because even if I have full confidence to dispel the "moral doubts" of others in my life about me having fun and shooting dolls, I don't want to go to great lengths to do so, it's not worth it. After all, I am fully capable of managing the two "worlds" well, each going its way without interfering with the other. After all, this is my private entertainment, and I have no obligation to publish it under legal circumstances.

Q10: Is there any special or interesting thing that happened between you and the doll?

"Share two more impressive things"

The first one, after a certain shooting, it was already past 1:00 a.m., and I was going to drive more than 30 kilometers to go home after packing up the shooting site. I had already driven to the door of the house and suddenly remembered that I forgot to remove the hairpin pinned to the back of the doll's waist. The more I thought about it, the more worried I was (lying capital) that under the heavy pressure, I would stab the doll's back waist the next day. After tangling for 2-3 minutes, I didn't do anything, turned around, and returned to the apartment where I was filming to eliminate hidden dangers. It took more than an hour to go back and forth like this and finally arrived home at around 3 am. Even so, I was so relieved and sober that I made a wise decision!

Second, one day in the early stages of COVID-19 in Shanghai, I was shooting in the apartment after get off work as usual. After I was done, I prepared to go out but suddenly found that because there were close contacts of COVID-19 in the apartment, the whole building was temporarily quarantined for 48 hours, and no entry or exit was allowed. And this is only about 10 minutes away from the time I originally planned to leave. In this way, I was forced to live with the doll for 2 days without mental preparation and without filing the family and company statements. Of course, the matter did not cause other negative effects in the end, nor did it "expose" the existence of the doll, and passed 48 hours smoothly, which can be regarded as a "thrilling, but happy trouble"!

Q11: Next, what is your plan for your doll life?

First of all, I still insist on the "monogamy" doll entertainment method, to focus more on shooting a body. But I will increase matching head sculpts according to needs and hobbies, and shoot dolls with different styles. This also achieves the continuity of the size of the clothes, which is of great benefit to the daily cost control of doll play and the control of apartment storage space.

Secondly, I will still pay close attention to the next new product of the Gynoid, and the most recent one is the upcoming No. 19. I am also planning to visit the Dongguan headquarters and factory of the Gynoid to have a deeper understanding of the Gynoid products and design concepts, and to put forward my opinions and suggestions.

Again, I will not rule out the possibility of purchasing other brands of dolls, but the premise is that they must meet my aesthetic requirements, body shape design, and overall quality. To put it simply, if there is a manufacturer whose product surpasses artificial humans and conforms to my philosophy, then I may break the "monogamy" system.

Finally, I plan to order a personal head sculpt that belongs to me through a third-party studio, including customized makeup, customized hair transplant, and hairstyle, to create the ideal "female supermodel" in my mind!

Due to my work habits, I also set a series of plans and goals for my doll career every year to complete. What is certain is that I will not "retire from the circle" in 2023.
